11 - Winter In Beaumont

True to your word
My eyes have opened up another time
True to your word
Breathing's just the same as yesterday
I search for words
My tongue's no longer bolted down
I'm on my feet

True to your word
The morning air bites at my neck
True to your word
The bus stop stands, dripping with rain
I hear a bird
From the forest's leaves he sings, without a name
Without a name

And the willow tree hangs over the river
Her head bowed low, I shiver
The starlings fill the gaps in the ever-ringing
Silence of life in town

True to your word
The sunrise creeps over my bed
True to your word
It's beautiful, no less than yesterday
Haven't you heard?
It's snowed between the evening and the morn
They've cleaned the world

And the willow tree hangs over the river
Her head bowed low, I shiver
The starlings fill the gaps in the ever-ringing
Silence of life in town

I won't say a word
If you put your hand in mine
Sweetly offered
The season's end is timely
I thought I heard
You say those words, gently, again
But true to your word
My eyes have opened up again
